Step into my world

So, this is my dwelling habitat at Brandom Cabinets. My realm. My domain.

But, guess what...I get a real office in Hellsboro!! YAY. I'm going to paint it a dark gray/blue, maybe accent wall of orange? What ya think?

News of the Day:
I'm very happy because I know a secret. Only the few who I've told know about it. It involves someone here at work. It's dirty too. I can use it as an ultimate weapon if the time comes. Hooray. I love getting dirt, even more when I find it out.

My grandfather is doing better and hopefully will be out of rehab in a couple of weeks. He broke his leg and he's 91, so he is pretty fragile. My SOB cousins haven't visited or acted concerned whatsoever, but they are sorry people and will probably burn in the everlasting fires of hell for it, at least I can hope so.

The Dangers of Organic Products

I am a complete sucker for neat packaging. So, last night Laura and I go to the new ULTA across the freeway. For those who don't know, ULTA is a smaller version of Sephora. I needed new shampoo anyway so I began to look around. I found several types that looked nice. But, I ended up going for my normal problem solver, chosing the best looking product. It smelled good too.

I failed to notice however, that the product was "organic" and I didn't find out until this morning that it lacked something I had some to expect in Shampoo, a lathering agent. So, it was like rubing some strange chemical into my head that smelled like fruit. I didn't enjoy my washing expeirience this morning. And I am wondering what to do with my 12 dollar purchase. (I thought I could trust everything that came in minimalist bottles.)

Although, my hair is looking exceptionally fabulous today, I must say. Must be the new goo I got to put in it. That would be BedHead's blue goo to be exact. You have to wonder about a product that says the following: "Are you cool? Do you want whacked-out hair?" I made fun of someone in school for owning this same product. I feel guilty now.

My first....

His name was rick, I didn't get his number...

Laura and I tag teamed him. I feel dirty. I got a blister on my ankle.

Back in the safety of my cubicle

A Bull at the Stockyards

The Evatts are here. My cousins arrived on Friday and I ended up taking them to see Madagascar, a funny movie. Saturday, there weren't enough seats in the car so, Laura and I had to stay at home and lounge by the pool.

It's not that I don't love my 12 and 8 year old cousins, it's that they drive me insane. Mostly little Steven. He is the devil. The greatest thing ever happened to him though. We went to the Stockyards and Laura wanted to get on the live bull. So, she gets up to take a picture. Steven, in his normal wandering walks up to the front of the bull. The cowboy tells him to get away because he could get hurt. Well, he backs up and then walks back up to the bull again. The cowboy says, "son, get away from the bull, I'm not going to tell you again." Laura and I were delighted.

I whisper things in his ear all day like, "If you don't listen to what we say, I'll hit you." "Don't be a problem." "You are such an embarrassment".....Ha ha, ok maybe not the last one. I know, I'm sadistic.

But, I figure the kid's warped enough already, what's the harm.

There Are No Cats in America

And the streets are paved with cheese.

Ok, everyone knows the movie. But now, as an adult, I realize that Fievel was Jewish. What got the idea in someone's head to make a movie about an imigrant, Jewish Mouse?

Nowadays, to be more multicutural, we need a movie about the following:

  1. Muhammed, the palestinian ferret, owns a night club in San Fransico
  2. Sven, a swedish goat, wants to open a surf shop in South Padre
  3. Ngo Ngo, a vietnamese toaster, fighting for tougher labor laws in Mali
  4. Luc, an atheist truffle pig, protesting globalization at the G8

I'm sure all of these would be great films. Any ideas out there.

I Love Sweet Tea

Someone was asking me if I liked living in the South. I answered, "I don't live in the South, I live in the Southwest." So many people think that Texas is apart of the south, but it is not. It is an independent country that has some characteristics of the South, but is totally different.

Some examples:

The real south has lots of trees. Texas has very few.

The real south has Pork Bar-B-Que. Evil Beef BBQ.

The real south has Chevy Pickups. Texas is a Ford place.

The real south has big hair. Texas has...well...nevermind

The real south has Sweet Tea! In Texas, it is quite hard to find.

The real south has lots of black people. Not in Texas.

These are just a few of the many examples of how Texas is not southern.

But thankfully, Hillsboro has a very good Fried Chicken place that is to die for. And they have good sweet tea. I think they must be transplants.

Extreme Makeover, Here I Come!

Matt, Krispy Fried

After a nice weekend of lounging about the pool and eating out, I am nice and red....Lobster Man. But, by the end of the week I'll be brown and tan.

The week ahead looks normal, Mom and Laura are coming home so things will go back to normal.

Check up with ya later.

Weekend So Far

Well, yesterday we spent most of the day cleaning up the house for a party that never happened. Paul, Perla, and Arianna were all supposed to come over for cookout and swimming. At 5:30, no one had come yet, so, Dad and packed up and went to Ft. Worth to eat BBQ.

I think it must be a culture thing, Hispanic people just aren't big on nailing down firm times or telling people, "No, I can't make it." So, we went to the most excellent Le Madeline after dinner and got a pecan tart. Mmmmm.

Sunday will most likely be another pool and tanning day.

Feel free to make fun of me...

My friends, This is a most joyous day. It's the day my Eames Chair joins my room. Isn't it the most wonderful thing ever. It's the best thing that 2 grand can buy nowadays. Anyway, I had to rearrange my room to get it in. Now it looks more like my Apt. in Boone. I even broke out the Flotaki!

But after an evening of yard work, a clean room and a nice chair is good to come home to.

God bless the USA

I got this in one of those silly chain letter things. Everything it said was true, but, COME ON, must we have the little kids praying. It is most unfortunate.  Posted by Hello

Chop House Misfortunes

Last night, Dad and I went to dinner with vendors at Blade's Chop House. It was a typical high-end steak place or it was trying to be.

Here are my issues:

1. Shrimp Cocktail, nice big shrimp, only 4 however. And they were not deveined, so they had big black lines down there back. I didn't like that. It seemed dirty.

2. After we ate our first plate of bread, we had to ask to get more. And then he acted like it was a hassle.

3. Glasses empty too long

4. Little fruit flies were all over, one got in my tea.

5. Creamed spinach the worst ever. Not good at all, no flavor with raw onions on top.

I will say that the steak was top-notch and the Flourless chocolate cake was great.

So, think long and hard before you go to Blade's Chop House.

Doing things for mom

Today, after unloading a truck in Hellsboro, Mom calls. Asks if I can get Laura's Transcript sent. So, I call and find out I have to go to Fort Worth to the main office and get an official one.

So, I drive to Ft. Worth. get it, come back. Now its 130 and I still have the rest of the day to try to recover. But, anyway

Tonight, A vendor is taking Dad and I to dinner. Not that I'm special, but mom is still out of town.

I took this pic in LA in Feb, I really like it. Enjoy

Greetings friends

Hi everyone,

This is my new blog. A different one than my secret blog. My secret blog is mainly about work and the fun that happens there. See if you can find it.

But, I decided that the world needed to know what I was up too, thinking, and going through on a daily basis. Now I can add pictures and other exciting things to attract you to read about my daily occurrences.

Ok, well then welcome. Enjoy the chaos.
Matt
