Help My Dog!

Brownie is a good girl, she just has fallen in with the wrong crowd. First Cigarettes, next crack.

Sorry, I was planning to post yesterday but got distracted with the whole hurricane coverage on the weather channel. Mom and Laura were dodging tornados in GA all day. it sprinkled here.

Texas sucks.

I wish it would storm or do something other than be oppresively hot.

everyone should go to www.lileks.com

He is the writer of 2 of my favorite books. I normally end up crying from laughing so hard when I read them.

Last night at Chorus, a new Posse of Hotness was there. The new student members. I feel like a dirty old man when they come in. But it is very nice.

Nap Time

Yay, the weekend is finally here. After a long week of hard work, I am going to be rewarded by doing nothing. As much as I hate the French, there is something to the 4 day work week.

Big shout out to Laura for getting into Shorter Chorale. Only the best College music group ever!!! So, anyway. I have to finish getting stuff for my office. It needs to look sweet.

I've been so busy this week, only today have been able to go to the bank and deposit last weeks check. At least I've got some money to burn. Weekend will include pics...

My back hurts

After another long day of putting together cubicles, I get to do it again!! Yay!!

This sucks, oh and please pray for me. I am exacting revenge on some wrong that has befallen my family. It is good revenge, one that is especially good for me.

This is what I've been doing. Its heavy lifting and (ewww) sweaty work in the heat. But, its kinda nice to out of the office and dealing with the BS here.

BTW, I'm sooo happy I don't have to live in one of those!

Please note: I normally don't use this many exclamation points!!!!, but my tone is filled with about my maximum amount of sarcasm. This connotes that I am pissed about something.

The Worst Movie in the History of Earth

(Not including anything with Barbara Striesand)

Last night I had the utter misfortune to see Deuce Bigelow European gigolo.

There are many bad movies out there, some that I have seen and regretted, but few have left me yearning for the 2 hours back. I would like a refund from the movie company for my time and ticket price.

I will not go into details as to why it was bad, penis nose lady should suffice. The movie was nothing like the original which was truly funny while still maintaining the bawdy. This wasn't funny, proliferated with bad language (something that the original tempered), and overly gross. It lost the whole feeling of comedy that was in the first. Instead, it was replaced with crude slapstick.

I feel that it was bad in the same vein as Legally Blonde 2 and The Princess Diaries 2. Both were movies that I liked the first and the second was an utter failure. At least this one didn't include Raven or Gay Dogs!!!

Big Plans This Weekend!!!

Umm, yeah whatever...

My plans this weekend consist mainly of doing nothing. I want to lay by the pool, be in the pool, or reading in the Air Conditioning. It's supposed to be 100 tomorrow and my ass isn't doing anything that requires more effort than getting a drink out of the fridge.

This weeks postings have been delayed mainly due to my fatigue. I've just been tired after work. Although, I have gotten a great deal done at the new offices. Setting up cubicles is hard work. And if I ave to deal with one more whiney person, I'm gonna lose it. Sad Note, the desk I wanted has a huge chunk of veneer out of it, so I'm gonna look for another one.

By the way, I got a haircut. I'm rocking the Faux-Hawk now, not so tall after working all day. but you can get the idea. It makes me look younger, I need that.

So, I'm off to try to round up some coke money. I need a fix!!

I found some pics!!!

Thanks to Laura for taking some pictures of the lovely dorm that she will inhabit for the next year. HAHAHAHAHA

Isn't the pink fabulous???

Why are my pants legs too short?

So, I get back to work after this crazy weekend. I'm wearing relatively nicer work clothes. I walk around and notice that my ankles are getting a little breezy. It may be this fabric, but it seems that my pants are too short. They are standard, Flat-front gap slacks, 32 length like all my others, but they show an awful lot of ankle.

Also, I really want to kill several people at work. Why must they always be complete idiots or total nutjobs? And whats up with those painted-on eyebrows?

Boo Hoo, uncontrollable crying, dispair, etc....

Well, after a weekend of intensive driving, Laura is at Shorter College.

Rome, GA watch out for the black Envoy. She'll kill for a good parking spot at TJ Max.

Ok, I'm not really crying (that much) but now I'm all alone. So, I've got to find something to do. Work will keep me busy with the move and I'm already planning a couple of homicides there.

Unfortunately, I left my camera at my grandparents house so, I have no pictures.

IKEA!!!!!!

yay,

I finally made it to the new IKEA in Frisco. Laura needed some more things for the dorm so I got to leave work early and check out the new store. It was heaven. So much stuff I want, I'm so gonna break the bank when I get a place of my own.

The Monday Train Wreck

Monday was a generally horrible day.

The AC is still broken, "oh, it'll take a few days for that part to git in."

The Internet/Phone is out, "Yeah, we've been having some problems with your line, someone will be there by tomorrow at 7pm"

Not going to be buying that house, "Can't you find someone to give you 20 grand for a down payment?"

These are all things that compiled upon each other to make for a tragic monday.

Monday, August 08, 2005

Ok, maybe not

Please disregard the post about the house.

Seems that my dad has no idea what mortgage payments should be. I thought that I might be able to get payments (including taxes) around $800. Well, no such luck. Although, I have learned that if I want payments like that, I need to look around in the 90-100 grand range.

So, for the time being, matt remains a houseguest and a blight on the world. It's my damn standards, I don't want to live in some ghetto in a house that I won't be able to sell. I have now answered my question on why people rent houses when they can buy them for the same payments. It's because no one wants to buy a house with those payments, because they look like crap.

So, I'm back at the unhappy square one. Although, I have lots of money to spend on other things, (like shampoo) I just want more belonging. Ownership, not just my room. I nearly have a house's worth of furniture already, with nowhere to put it.

At least it's not sunny out to further taunt me. The cool cloudiness fits my angry-depressed-relieved mood.

The IKEA trip that wasn't

It's a Two-fer today!!

Today, after a particularly painful family meltdown. We decided to go to IKEA in Frisco. It takes about an hour and half to get to Frisco from Burleson. But this was going to be the high point of the week, the culimination of 3 years of furniture fantasy. (the last time I was in IKEA was in Orange County, so I couldn't have really brought home a sofa.)

After a quiet trip, (everyone was still reeling from the encounter this morning) we arrive to special signs routing IKEA traffic to the special parking lots. (we knew it was going to be busy, but not this) As the traditional blue and yellow building came into sight, the traffic slowed. It took us about 30 min. to get to the parking lot entrance, only to discover a Frisco PD officer telling us that the lot was full. Literally thousands of people were trying to get to IKEA all at the same time.

So, we decided to just go to the lovely Stonebriar Mall instead. This mall is nice, a Macy's and Nordstrom!! Too much to ask for!! After this, we decided to go home, but not before one more crack at the IKEA parking lot. (for many were parking at the mall and walking the 1/2 mile to IKEA. We mange to jump into the IKEA line and find that the parking lots are indeed open now!! YAY. we creep closer and closer to our mecca, we can just see the rows of poang chairs and Gruva lights. as we crest over a rise to see the parking spaces wating for us, we see it...

A line of about 1000 people wraped around the building, shuffling at the speed of the escalator that greets them at the other side of the glass doors. At my calculations, the line would take approx. 45 min. to get inside, that is counting that the Fire Marshall keeps the doors open.

Upon seeing this vexation, we decided that we would just wait and go to the IKEA in ATL on friday.

So there, that is my trip. Please pray for my family, Laura moves into her dorm on sat. Mom is a basketcase and I'm at my wits end. Your's truly is expecting the brunt of emotional turmoil that will be released when Laura leaves. So, hopefully I can close quickly on the house.

What Matt has been worrying about now

Ok, sorry that I have been lacking in my normally verbose prose this week. But, I have had a distraction and a new ocurance that has caught my attention. It is a new house that I have taken a liking to. It's very nice, reasonably affordable, and just my size.

The Front: Yes, hard to believe but those are nice big trees in Texas. And a vicous holly bush that protect the front yard's slope. Yes, it's on a hill too.

The Back Yard: Private and shaded, flat in the middle. Will be great for parties.

Living/ Dining room: I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do in here.

Kitchen: The cabinets will leave soon, with the counters. They are going into retirement.
Entry Hall: The whole place has new tile and some pergo floors here and there. It's decent, needs some updating though. Not too hard for me to do however.

Overall, I think this is a good deal. It's on a highly desirable street in a lower tax county than my parents, I'll even save on car insurance (thank God). I'll have an ok amount of money left over at the end of the month so I can still buy stuff (occasionally). I guess it means I have to slow down on the spending. Which, I must say, I normally only buy sale stuff, but alot of it. I have the will power!!!!

Say a prayer on the financing, hopefully I can keep the payments low.

Still no air

So after a weekend with no AC, I come to find that it will be wednesday till it gets fixed. Grrr.

This weekend was boring. Sunday, I hit up Northeast Mall with Laura and Sara. Got some jeans and shirt. I feel marginally better. It was very crowded.

Monday is going well, went to Hillsboro. Amazing progress. Hopefully I will bring the camera and take somem pics for all to see. It's our new offices.

till later
