It's a Two-fer today!!
Today, after a particularly painful family meltdown. We decided to go to IKEA in Frisco. It takes about an hour and half to get to Frisco from Burleson. But this was going to be the high point of the week, the culimination of 3 years of furniture fantasy. (the last time I was in IKEA was in Orange County, so I couldn't have really brought home a sofa.)
After a quiet trip, (everyone was still reeling from the encounter this morning) we arrive to special signs routing IKEA traffic to the special parking lots. (we knew it was going to be busy, but not this) As the traditional blue and yellow building came into sight, the traffic slowed. It took us about 30 min. to get to the parking lot entrance, only to discover a Frisco PD officer telling us that the lot was full. Literally thousands of people were trying to get to IKEA all at the same time.
So, we decided to just go to the lovely Stonebriar Mall instead. This mall is nice, a Macy's and Nordstrom!! Too much to ask for!! After this, we decided to go home, but not before one more crack at the IKEA parking lot. (for many were parking at the mall and walking the 1/2 mile to IKEA. We mange to jump into the IKEA line and find that the parking lots are indeed open now!! YAY. we creep closer and closer to our mecca, we can just see the rows of poang chairs and Gruva lights. as we crest over a rise to see the parking spaces wating for us, we see it...
A line of about 1000 people wraped around the building, shuffling at the speed of the escalator that greets them at the other side of the glass doors. At my calculations, the line would take approx. 45 min. to get inside, that is counting that the Fire Marshall keeps the doors open.
Upon seeing this vexation, we decided that we would just wait and go to the IKEA in ATL on friday.

So there, that is my trip. Please pray for my family, Laura moves into her dorm on sat. Mom is a basketcase and I'm at my wits end. Your's truly is expecting the brunt of emotional turmoil that will be released when Laura leaves. So, hopefully I can close quickly on the house.
